Scrappy Battle against Lawrence Tech sees Women's Volleyball win streak extend to 20

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Cornerstone comes out of a week-long layoff with a tough matchup against a scrappy Lawrence Tech team, which saw the Golden Eagles win streak extend to 20 and still unbeaten in conference play. Kaylee Dykema had a career day as she racked up a season high 18 kills to lead the way for the Golden Eagles. Cornerstone hits the road on Friday, October 14 to face off against Siena Heights, as they look to extend their winning streak to 21.

Game Highlights: Cornerstone – 3 Lawrence Tech - 1 (27-25, 20-25, 25-22, 25-18)
• Cornerstone and Lawrence Tech started the game trading blows until the Golden Eagles got back-to-back points to extend the lead 7-5. Kathryn Detweiler and Kylie Barron had kills.
• Lawrence Tech went on 5-0 run to force the Cornerstone timeout as they take the lead 12-10 in set one. 
• The Blue Devils continued to push their lead as they got up 17-14 in set one after a few mistakes by Cornerstone.
• Cornerstone stormed back to tie it 18-18 highlighted by a kill by Kylie Barron and a service ace by Patsy Morris
• The Golden Eagles were able to force Lawrence Tech to use their first timeout as they pulled within one in set one, 23-22. Kaylee Dykema had a kill for Cornerstone.
• Lawrence Tech used their second timeout in set two after Cornerstone pulled ahead 26-25 after a kill by Olivia Keelean and attacking errors by the Blue Devils. 
• Cornerstone wins set one 27-25.
• Lawrence Tech got off to a hot start in set two going up early 6-3 with early kills and a few Cornerstone mistakes.
• The Blue Devils forced the Cornerstone timeout after going on a quick 3-0 run to extend their lead 15-10 after attacking errors by the Golden Eagles. 
• Cornerstone forced the first Lawrence tech timeout after going on a 5-0 run to cut their deficit 20-15 in set two with kills by Kaylee Dykema and Rylie Walters
• Lawrence Tech closed out set two strong winning it 25-20 tie up the match 1-1.
• Cornerstone came out strong to start set three scoring the first three points with a kill by Olivia Keelean, leading 3-0.
• The Golden Eagles extended their lead 8-5 after a service ace by Patsy Morris and a kill by Kaylee Dykema.
• The Golden Eagles forced the Lawrence Tech timeout after extending their lead 17-14 after a kill by Kylie Barron and attacking errors by the Blue Devils. 
• Lawrence Tech used their final timeout after kills by Kaylee Dykema and Rylie Walters extended the Cornerstone lead 20-15 in set three.
• After a Lawrence Tech run that saw the lead dwindle to two, Cornerstone was able to close out set three winning 25-22 after an Olivia Keelean kill. 
Aubrey Lenz started off set four with a bang with a service ace right through the defender's hands. 
• Lawrence Tech goes on a 7-0 run to force Cornerstone to use their first timeout as the Blue Devils lead early in set four 8-5.
• After going back-and-forth for the majority of the fourth set, Cornerstone forced the first timeout out of the Blue Devils after a kill by Kaylee Dykema put them up 18-17.
• Cornerstone goes on a 4-1 run to extend their lead 22-18 in set four after another kill by Kaylee Dykema and a service ace by Rylie Walters.
• Cornerstone finished the set strong winning 25-18.
