WHAC Champions; No. 1 Men’s Hoops downs UM-Dearborn 103-70

DEARBORN, Mich. -  The Cornerstone men's basketball team claimed the WHAC regular season title outright today thanks to a dominating 103-70 win over host UM-Dearborn. The victory is the seventh straight for the Golden Eagles as they improve to 26-3 overall and 18-1 in conference play. CU will finish out the regular season on Saturday at home with a 3 p.m. contest against Lawrence Tech. Cornerstone will celebrate five seniors – Marquise Hatter, Michael Bradshaw, Lance Martin, Joey Blauwkamp and Kyle Steigenga before the tip-off.

Game Flow
It was all Cornerstone for the entire first half as the offense posted 56 points, led by 20 from senior Michael Bradshaw. The sharpshooter made seven of his first eight shots from the field, including three out of four from behind the arc and that only covered the first 9:10 of the game. The lead grew to as many as 23 in the opening 20 minutes and CU would eventually lead 56-38 at the break.

The lead slowly grew to open the second as Cornerstone used balanced scoring from Kyle Steigenga, Sam Vander Sluis and Christian Rodriguez to up the margin to 30 points just 4:07 into the half. A Rodriguez triple pushed the lead to 31 and the largest it would get would be 35 with under two minutes to play.

Say What?
