Huge first half allows No. 1 Men’s Hoops to roll to 92-48 victory

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Cornerstone's defense allowed a Mol Arena-low 13 points in the opening half as they opened a 51-13 lead in route to an 92-48 victory over Siena Heights. The win is the 26th in a row at home as the Golden Eagles improve to 22-3 on the year and 14-1 in the WHAC. CU will head to Northwestern Ohio on Saturday for a 3 p.m. tip.
 
Game Flow
The Cornerstone defense ranks No. 2 in the country in Scoring and they buckled down in the opening twenty minutes as they led by 38 at the break. CU did not allow the visiting Saints to score for the first 5:47 and they had already put up 10 points themselves. SHU did not reach double digits until a three pointer went down with 1:15 on the clock with the Golden Eagles up 49-11.

The starters then came out hot in the second half and increased the margin to 47 points (69-22) with just over 14 minutes to play before they yielded to some of the reserves who saw significant playing time on Wednesday night. Lance Martin had 10 points as he led the bench scoring that put up 34 points including seven from Zach Baker and five each from Nick Dekkenga and Tyler Baker.
