Women's Golf places fifth at Blackthorn GC

9/10/2024 4:38:00 PM

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – For the first time in the 2024-25 season, women's golf competed in a match and came away with a fifth-place finish. Blackthorn is a difficult course to start your season at, but Joy Hess didn't think so as she led the way for the Golden Eagles shooting a 84/83 to finish 15th as an individual. Claire Meacham was right behind her with an 85/85 to finish 18th.

On the first day, Cornerstone shot a 345 and was looking to improve on day two but came away with a 352 to finish fifth for the tournament. In doing so, they also broke the 36-Hole record with a total 697, an 11-shot difference from their last 36-Hole record at Blackthorn from 2022. The host Bethel came away with the tournament victory with a 317/310 between both days. Women's Golf will be back in action on September 20 and 21 as they compete at the Rumble at the Rock at Rock Hollow GC.
