GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Cornerstone continues to find their stride, doing so at the perfect time with their second consecutive sweep over a WHAC foe, taking down Indiana Tech 25-18, 25-21, 25-23 inside Mol Arena on Friday evening. CU has now played six sets in WHAC games and won all six to move to 7-8, 2-0 WHAC on the year. The homestand continues tomorrow as they will take on UNOH at 1 p.m. back inside Mol Arena.
Game Recap: Cornerstone – 3 Indiana Tech – 0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-23)
- Kathryn Detweiler recorded a kill to spur an early 3-0 CU run and make it 10-7.
- With CU up 20-18, the Golden Eagles did not mess around, using a 5-0 run on the Kathryn Detweiler serve to close out set one 25-18. Aubrey Lenz and Kaylee Dykema recorded a block for the set clinching point.
- Cornerstone carried all the momentum as the Warriors simply could not put the ball in play early in set two with five attacking errors that made it 7-1.
- Three consecutive IIT kills and a Golden Eagle attack error allowed them back in the set as they trailed by just one at 11-10.
- Cornerstone later went on a 5-1 run started by a pair of Olivia Keelean kills to make it 19-13.
- Indiana Tech responded to cut the deficit to just one, but outstanding defense from Patsy Morris and a solo block from Kaylee Dykema gave the Golden Eagles a 25-21 set two victory.
- The block continued to be successful for CU, getting out to a four-point lead in set three at 16-12 with one from Kylie Barron and Kathryn Detweiler.
- IIT responded with a 6-0 run to take a 21-17 edge.
- Finishing has been the name of the game for the Golden Eagles however, as they did not give up with a massive solo block from Olivia Keelean tying the set at 23 to force the Warriors to use a timeout.
- After the timeout, CU wasted no time as Rylie Walters recorded a service ace followed by an Indiana Tech attack error to win set three 25-23.

Kaylee Dykema recorded seven blocks for the third consecutive game to lead CU, with a career high three solo blocks on the day.
34-19 – Indiana Tech could not put the ball in play, with 34 attack errors to the Golden Eagles 19.

Patsy Morris led the team with 14 digs on the day.
9-29 –
Rylie Walters recorded a team high nine kills, as the Golden Eagles as a team only needed 29 kills to win the match.
6 – Cornerstone has won all six sets they have played in the WHAC this season.
