GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Cornerstone Volleyball team opened up their conference slate on Wednesday night and for the first tie in the last eight years, found themselves on the losing end as host Aquinas defeated CU 3-0, 25-12, 25-16, 26-24. The Golden Eagles, now 4-5 overall, will play their home opener this weekend when they host the annual AQ/CU Classic featuring four matches over two days inside Mol Arena.

- The Golden Eagles hit -.065 on the day (15 kills, 21 errors on 92 attempts)
- Cornerstone was on verge of forcing a 4th set after leading 24-23 in set three but AQ scored three straight to close out the match
