BELLEVUE, Neb. – Cornerstone went 1-1 on the final day in Bellevue, Nebraska winning in straight sets over Culver-Stockton College (25-21, 25-13, 25-15) and falling in four sets to Briar Cliff University (25-18, 20-25, 14-25, 13-25). CU is now 4-4 on the year as they will begin WHAC play on Wednesday at Davenport University.
Match 1 – Cornerstone 3, Culver-Stockton (Mo.) 0 – 25-21, 25-13, 25-15
The Golden Eagles took set one against the Wildcats 25-21 despite having only 10 kills to the opponent's 12. Nine errors by CSC helped the CU attack get back on track and win five of the last six points.
Cornerstone then came out in the second and third sets firing on all strings to take the next two games 25-13 and 25-15. Kill leaders Heather Green (13) and Maria Ma (7) helped the Golden Eagles take early leads bringing them to two quick set victories. The defense began to show up as well, as Kendra Zwart recorded five assisted blocks to help the team toward 9 total blocks in the match.
Match 2 – Cornerstone 1, Briar Cliff (Iowa) 3 – 25-18, 20-25, 14-25, 13-25
CU rode the momentum into game 2 taking the first set 25-18 over Briar Cliff University. Junior Heather Green recorded four of Cornerstone's 13 kills in the first set along with two services aces to help the Golden Eagles take the early lead.
The Charger offense was too much to handle for the Golden Eagles as they took three consecutive sets 25-20, 25-14, and 25-13 to overcome the deficit and win in four sets. Briar Cliff recorded 53 kills hitting .283 for the match and 73 digs in the win.

- Kendra Zwart hit a career high .400 in the win over Culver-Stockton.
- Cornerstone averaged just a .116 hitting percentage in the four match Labor Day Classic Tournament.
