Last Two Regular Season Games on Tap for Men's Basketball

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Men's Basketball returns to action this week with the final two games of the regular season. The Golden Eagles first host Aquinas on Wednesday, February 19 as they will honor their nine seniors before the action starts. They will then hit the road to face off against #RV Indiana Tech to end their season with a very important WHAC game. Men's Basketball is currently 18-8 (14-4) on the year.

Last Week Recap
Men's Basketball hosted Lawrence Tech and then traveled to Cleary in their two conference games. The Golden Eagles opened the week with a revenge victory over Lawrence Tech 90-76 behind five players in double-figures with Luke Rowlinson leading the way with 21. They would then travel to Cleary and came away with an easy 79-56 victory behind Mason Brook's 19 points. The wins improved men's basketball to 18-8 (14-4) on the year with two regular season conference games remaining.
 
Senior Spotlight
Men's Basketball will be honoring their nine, yes nine seniors tomorrow night before the game against Aquinas. Jack Joldersma, Tanner Wiegerink, Eli Steffen, Aiden Gortmaker, Blake Stewart, Connor Dykema, Toby Woolcock, Luke Rowlinson, and Mason Brooks will all be honored. Come and celebrate the incredible careers of these Golden Eagles.
 
WHAC Outlook
With two games remaining in the WHAC regular season, here is where the standings remain. Indiana Tech has a two-game lead over the Golden Eagles in the top spot with a conference record of 16-2. Cornerstone sits in second with a one game lead over both Madonna and Lourdes with an overall record of 14-4 as they are 14-5. Lawrence Tech is in fifth at 12-6 with UNOH and Rochester Christian at 9-9 to round out the top seven. This week can determine a lot of different seeding as another can happen between the final two games.
 
Scouting Aquinas
Aquinas comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 13-13 (9-10) on the year. Men's Basketball got the best of Aquinas in their first matchup of the year 78-72 thanks to four different players in double-figures. On the year, the Saints are averaging 71.1 points per-game while shooting 41%. They are allowing 72.1 points with opponents shooting 45.1% from the field. They are led by Devon Boyd and his 14.6 points per-game followed by Jadakiss Lewis and his 13.7 points per-game.
 
Scouting Indiana Tech
Indiana Tech comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 19-6 (16-2) with a matchup against Concordia before men's basketball. The Warriors have taken care of business all season in the WHAC as they have only lost to Madonna and Lourdes, both on the road. Men's Basketball fell to Indiana Tech in their first matchup on the year 72-66 in a defensive showdown. If Indiana Tech wins on Wednesday, they are crowned WHAC Regular Season Champions, clinching an automatic berth into the NAIA National Championship. The Warriors are averaging 81 points per-game on 47.9% shooting. They are holding opponents to 69.4 points on 39.2% shooting. They are led by Crew Gibson and his 14.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per-game with Blake Davison right behind him at 13.3 points per-game.
