SYLVANIA, Ohio – Men's basketball rode their five-game win streak into (7) Lourdes and came away with an upset victory 89-75. Cornerstone did not trail once in this game, seeing their lead grow to 28 at one point in the dominant win over the number seven team in the nation.
Mason Brooks led the way for Cornerstone with 19 points off the bench while threes others scored in double-figures.
Eli Steffen was one assist away from a double-double as he finished with 17 points and nine assists as
Toby Woolcock grabbed a career high 11 rebounds. Men's Basketball is now 16-7 (12-5) on the year as they return home to face off against Siena Heights on Saturday, February 10 starting at 3 p.m.

- First Half
- Eli Steffen got the scoring started for the Golden Eagles with five straight as Cornerstone leads 9-4 early.
- Connor Dykema finishes the lob from Eli Steffen as the Golden Eagles continue to lead 15-8 through the first five-minutes.
- Lourdes has started to battle back in this game as Cornerstone still leads 19-18 through the first 10-minutes.
- Right out of the media timeout, Cornerstone rattled off a 9-0 run highlighted by five straight points from Luke Rowlinson that gave Cornerstone a 30-21 lead.
- Luke Rowlinson completed the three-point play and Mason Brooks follows with a three pointer as the Golden Eagles see their lead grow to 10, 38-28 with 3:49 to go in the half.
- Andy Mora makes a pair of free throws and then makes the pullup jumper to score four-straight for the Golden Eagles to make it a 46-31 Cornerstone lead.
- Eli Steffen tosses the ball back and Mason Brooks drills a three from the volleyball lines to beat the halftime buzzer. Cornerstone heads into the break leading 52-31.
- Second Half
- Cornerstone opened the second half on a 6-0 run thanks to two Cory Ainsworth layups as the Golden Eagles continue to extend their lead.
- Lourdes would respond with an 8-0 run of their own that forced the Golden Eagles to regroup as they still lead 61-41.
- Mason Brooks hits two threes for the Golden Eagles after a small scoring drought as they continue to hold onto their 20-point lead, 72-47 with 11:20 remaining.
- It continues to be all Cornerstone in this one as Luke Rowlinson drills a three as the Golden Eagles lead by 25 with seven minutes to go.
- Lourdes has started to put the pressure on the Golden Eagles, outscoring them 12-2 to pull within 15 with four-minutes to go.
- Cory Ainsworth ended the scoring drought for Cornerstone with a layup to reextend the lead to 15 with 2:30 to go.
- Eli Steffen iced the game away with a nice finish around the rim as the Golden Eagles upset (7) Lourdes 89-75.
