GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Men's Basketball returns home to face off against two of the top teams in the conference in #RV Madonna and Indiana Tech. Madonna comes into town on Wednesday, January 24 and Indiana Tech comes on Saturday, January 27. Cornerstone currently sits in sixth in the conference with an overall record of 11-7 (7-5).

Last Week Recap
Cornerstone went 1-1 last week, knowing that they want their one loss back. Men's Basketball opened the week losing to Lawrence Tech, 80-73. Cornerstone led for the first 30 minutes of the game, but struggled in the second half as Lawrence Tech outscored them by 14. They then traveled to UNOH and had a first half scare, losing 60-49 at halftime to the Racers. A strong second half powered by
Cory Ainsworth's 37 points, gave the Golden Eagles a 102-85 victory to move to 11-7 (7-5) on the year.
Pizza Wars
On Wednesday, January 24 against Madonna, Flo's Pizza will be bringing in three different kinds of pizzas for FREE. Students will then vote on the best pizza between the Signature, Vegetale, and Mac n' Cheese pizza. The winner of the pizza will be showcased in the concession stand the rest of the year and students/staff can get 20% that pizza at Flo's the rest of the season. Make sure you come support men's and women's basketball to get some FREE pizza.
Looking at #RV Madonna
Madonna comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 15-3 (11-1) riding a four-game winning streak. Madonna got the best of Cornerstone in the first matchup of the season, winning 95-85. The Crusaders had a 32-point halftime lead as Cornerstone clawed their way back outscoring Madonna by 20 in the second half, but still losing. Madonna is a high scoring team, averaging 81.7 points per-game while shooting 45% from the field. They are led by Brendan Young who is averaging 17.3 points and eight rebounds per game on 50% shooting from the field.
Looking at Indiana Tech
Indiana Tech comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 11-7 (9-3) before facing off against Cleary to open the week. Indiana Tech won the first matchup big, 87-61 as Cornerstone had no answer all game for the Warriors. Indiana Tech struggled last week, falling to Madonna and Lourdes to drop to 9-3 in conference. The Warriors average 79 points per-game while shooting 47% from the field, holding opponents to just 70 points. They are led by Brady Titus who is averaging 12 points per-game as the point guard.
