The Tale of Two Halves
Cornerstone split a pair of home games last week, looking like an offensive powerhouse in a 99-90 win over UM-Dearborn before struggling to find the bucket on Senior Day in a 68-49 loss to rival Aquinas. CU is now 15-10, 9-8 WHAC on the year as they end the regular season with three road games at Siena Heights, Concordia, and Lawrence Tech.

WHAC Player of the Week
For the first time this season, senior Cory Ainsworth earned WHAC Player of the Week after a 30 point and 23-point performance. The center shot nearly 71% from the field and recorded his fifth double-double of the year. He joins Carter Nyp as the only other Golden Eagle to earn WHAC Player of the Week honors this season.

Double-Doubles
Cornerstone saw three double-doubles in just two games last week with Cory Ainsworth, Carter Nyp, and Eli Steffen all recording one. Nyp and Steffen each recorded a double-double in the win over UM-Dearborn with Nyp tallying 12 points and 10 rebounds and Steffen adding 10 points and 10 assists. Steffen's 10 assists is a new career high and his first ever double-double. Ainsworth against Aquinas added a double-double of his own, with 23 points and 10 rebounds.

WHAC Outlook
With just three regular season games remaining, Cornerstone sits in the sixth seed if the season were to end today for the WHAC Tournament. CU needs a lot of help if they want to host a WHAC Tournament game as they sit three games back from the top four teams in the conference with only three to play. Of the last three games of the year, CU will play two teams below them in the standings in Concordia and Siena Heights, and one team above them in Lawrence Tech.

Last Time vs. SHU/CUAA
In the first meeting of the year, Cornerstone dominated both Siena Heights and Concordia holding each opponent to 45 points or less and under 30% from the field. CU defeated SHU 89-45 and CUAA 91-42 in November and December. Head Coach Kim Elders has won his last four matchups with Siena Heights and the last three with Concordia.

Upset City
Despite having losing records, Concordia and Siena Heights have each recorded upsets of late. The Cardinals took down Lawrence Tech on the road this past Monday in a makeup game, 73-66. Siena Heights recorded an even bigger upset despite only winning two of their last nine games, downing Madonna on the road, 66-65.
