Last Week Recap
The Golden Eagles were looking to go into Thanksgiving break happy with a win over Madonna, but that was not the case. Men's Basketball fell at Madonna 95-85, but the score doesn't always tell the story of how the game went. Cornerstone was down 59-27 at halftime in part to Madonna hitting 13 threes in the first half, shooting 58%. The Golden Eagles then outscored Madonna 58-36 in the second half and got to as close as nine but was not able to dig out of the deep hole they were in, falling 95-85.
Luke Rowlinson and
Cory Ainsworth led the way with 22 and 21 points.
Pack the House
Pack the House is on Wednesday, November 29 for both the men's and women's games as the goal is to pack 60,000 meals for people in the Philippines. Come Pack the House as Bob Wells returns to be the MC for the night as there will be fun activities and games with prizes throughout the two games. It will be a great night!
Looking at Lourdes
#24 Lourdes comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles at 6-0 (2-0) on the season. The record has represented their competition as the Gray Wolves haven't faced the toughest of opponents like the Golden Eagles have. Each team Lourdes has faced, now has a losing record but that doesn't negate the fact that the Gray Wolves are very good and balanced team. They are led by their seniors Jackie Harris and Joey Holifield. Harris is averaging 25.7 points and seven rebounds per-game while shooting 45% from behind the arc. Holifield is averaging 18.3 points and six rebounds per-game while shooting 51% from the field. They are both coming off 20-point performances in their previous game.
Looking at Concordia
Concordia comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles at 2-3 (1-2) with a game against Michigan-Dearborn before facing off against Cornerstone. It has been an up and down start for the Cardinals losing their last two games against conference opponents. Concordia has gotten most of their scoring from two of their players, fifth year Dylan Jergens and junior Zavion McClendon. McClendon leads the way scoring 26 points and seven rebounds per-game shooting 43% from behind the arc. Jergens is averaging 19.4 points while shooting 44% from the field.
