LIVONIA, Mich. – It was a tale of two halves for men's basketball as they fell on the road to Madonna 95-85. Cornerstone was outscored 59-27 in the first half but outscored Madonna 58-36 in the second half. The hole was too deep to climb out of, but the fight was there in the second half for the Golden Eagles. Luke Rowlinson led the way with 22 points to pace the Golden Eagles as they fall to 4-2 (1-1) on the season. Cornerstone returns home to face off against #24 Lourdes for Pack the House Night on Wednesday, November 29 tipping off at 7:30 p.m.
 
Game Highlights – Madonna – 95 Cornerstone - 85
 

• First Half
  • It was not a good start for the Golden Eagles as Madonna has made their first four threes of the game to give themselves a 12-2 lead, three minutes into the game.
  • Madonna continued to not miss any threes as they have blown the game open five minutes into the first half as they lead 21-4.
  • 10-minutes into the game and the Golden Eagles are down 31-8. The offense struggled from the field. 
  • Jack Joldersma hits the first three of the game for Cornerstone to make it a 37-17 Madonna lead.
  • It was all Madonna in the first half as they head into halftime with 32-point lead, 59-27.
• Second Half
  • Down 32, Cornerstone opened the second half on a 9-0 to make it a 59-36 game, with seven of those points coming from Luke Rowlinson.
  • Connor Dykema sparked another rally for the Golden Eagles with back-to-back rim rattling dunks sparking a 6-0 run to make it 67-44.
  • Cornerstone continued to chip away but Madonna would answer with a three of their own. Eight-minutes remaining, and Cornerstone is down 77-58.
  • A Kayden Bird three brings Cornerstone the closest they have been since the first half down 17, 82-65 with five-minutes remaining.
  • A 10-4 run from the Golden Eagles makes it an 89-77 ball game with just over a minute remaining.
  • Luke Rowlison drills a three to make it three possession game, 89-80 but the time keeps ticking down with 50 seconds remaining.
  • Madonna would close out the game making their free throws as the Golden Eagles couldn't climb out of the hole they dug, falling 95-85.
