FORT WAYNE, Ind. – It was like any battle against Indiana Tech. Tough, physical, defensive battle that both Cornerstone and Tech show game in and out. Tonight, Tech used that physicality to their advantage as their defense cause a bad shooting night for the Golden Eagles as they would only make two, three pointers for the game. Tech held Cornerstone to their worst shooting performance of the year at 45.9% for the game as they would end up winning 81-60. Cornerstone will look to build and learn off this game moving forward as they have quick drive to Grace Christian on Saturday, December 3 for a 12:00 p.m. tip off.
Game Highlights
- Cornerstone and Indiana Tech battle back-and-forth for the first ten minutes before the first foul was called. It was like any previous matchup against the Warriors who used their defense and physicality to disrupt the flow of the offense. It was an Indiana Tech 20-18 lead after the first ten minutes. Cory Ainsworth had 6 points during that stretch.
- Indiana Tech used the next four minutes to go on a 11-6 run that saw extra opportunities from offensive rebounds lead to second chance points for the Warriors to extend their lead 31-24 with six minutes remaining in the first half.
- Mason Brooks hit the first three pointer for the Golden Eagles 18-minutes into the game to make it a 33-29 Indiana Tech lead.
- Tech used the final two minute to go on a 7-0 run to close the half to make it 40-29 as their defenses has held Cornerstone to their lowest scoring half of the season.
- Cornerstone looked to come out hungry in the second half but was stifled by Indiana Tech as they used the first three minutes to go on a 9-4 run that extended their lead 49-33, as Carter Nyp and Cory Ainsworth both made buckets for the Golden Eagles.
- Cornerstone has struggled from behind the arc as they yet to make another three as seven minutes have passed in the second half that saw Cory Ainsworth continue to try and be the spark for the Golden Eagles as Tech leads 55-39.
- Tech used the next six minutes to go on a 13-6 run as they extended their lead 68-45.
- Out of the timeout, the Golden Eagles showed late life as they went on a quick 7-2 run fueled by Cory Ainsworth and Eli Steffen.
- It was a little too late for the Golden Eagles as Luke Rowlinson finally hit the second three of the game for the Golden Eagles as they would eventually wound up losing 81-60.
