Women's Basketball set for three more WHAC games

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The women's basketball team will continue the busy month of February with three more WHAC games this week. Concordia will pay a visit to Mol Arena on Wednesday, February 10 before the Golden Eagles hit the road for games against Northwestern Ohio and Madonna on Saturday and Monday. All games will have live stats and video available with links available at cugoldeneagles.com

  • The Golden Eagles put up a strong fight against their rivals from Aquinas on Wednesday before falling short by a score of 74-67. 
  • Twelve different players recorded at least one point in the 99-72 setback to Rochester on Saturday. 
  • Cornerstone pulled down a season-high 23 offensive rebounds against Rochester, 
  • The Golden Eagles had a whopping 34 free throw opportunities against Rochester, but were only able to sink 19 of them.
  • Shelby Nyboer put up her first double-double of the season against Rochester by showing 16 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Allyson Richards is averaging 15.3 points per game. She has scored 10+ points in every game so far this season.

Scouting Concordia

  • Senior Katie Snow is averaging 15 points per game. She has scored more than 1400 points in her career.
  • The Cardinals are shooting 38% from beyond the arc.
  • Concordia has a 5-2 record on the road this season.
  • J'May Simmons is averaging 10.4 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. 

 

Scouting Northwestern Ohio

  • Northwestern Ohio is 5-6 overall, 2-6 WHAC. 
  • Jada Haines leads the team with 18.4 points per game. 
  • The Racers 76.9% free throw percentage is 15th best in the NAIA
  • Five different players are averaging at least five rebounds per game. 
  • Erin Scott is averaging 5.4 assists per game.
  • The Racers have won each of the last four games against CU, dating back to 2018. 

Scouting Madonna

  • Madonna is 2-6 overall, 2-4 WHAC this season.
  • Megan Aho leads the team with 13.1 points per game. She scored 22 against Cornerstone on January 30.
  • Madonna is averaging only 54.6 points per game this season. 
  • The Crusaders defeated Aquinas 59-51 last week.
  • Madonna has won three of the five contests against CU since the 2018-19 season, most recently with a 66-60 decision inside Mol Arena on January 30.
