GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Golden Eagles did the unthinkable last week, scoring a total of 211 points, shooting 54.6% from the field, 47.7% from behind the arc, and knocking down a total of 34 three pointers in a pair of dominant wins over Concordia and Northwestern Ohio. The week began with a 109-74 win vs. Concordia where CU scored a season high in points and had 69 points and 11 first half threes. Saturday, Cornerstone took the road where they scored 102 points in a 102-73 win at UNOH and hit a total of 21 threes in the game. The Golden Eagles will host Lourdes and Aquinas this week before traveling to Lawrence Tech on Monday as the 2020-21 regular season is just over a week away from completion. Live links for this weeks games can be found at cugoldeneagles.com.

Raining Threes
Cornerstone's 21 made threes at UNOH crushed a program record as the team shot 58.3% from behind the arc in the 102-73 victory. CU was 12-16 from three in the first half as Drew Knickerbocker and Christian Rodriguez each hit six on the game. The previous record was 18 made threes set back in 2003 vs. Grace Bible College.

Six Away
After a pair of five assist games, Christian Rodriguez is now just six away from the milestone of 500 career assists. Christian will be just the second Golden Eagle to hit the mark and currently sits 83 away from the program record. He is three assists away from taking over second place and passing Brad Tilma's mark of 498 set back in 1995-99.

Scouting Lourdes
Lourdes has had a unique season, starting the year 0-2 back in October before shutting down sports due to COVID. Once the season rebooted in January, the Gray Wolves went a perfect 7-0 and dominated all WHAC competition. LU then had to postpone four straight games due to internal COVID issues to begin February which led to a flat return and a loss to Aquinas. They immediately responded however with a 21 point win vs. Siena Heights to sit at 7-3, 5-1 WHAC. Lourdes is incredibly deep, with 16 players seeing the floor this season, led by senior Clif Snow and his 14.7 PPG and 31 assists. LU ranks top 15 in offensive rebounds per game with a 13.7 average and in scoring defense at 67.8.

Scouting Aquinas
After starting the year 0-6, AQ has caught fire winning their last four games to sit at 4-6, 4-5 WHAC. Defending WHAC Player of the Week Jesse Hllis continues to lead the team at 14.6 PPG and 5.8 APG this season. Aquinas is one of the best at defending the three point line holding opponents to 28.3%, while Cornerstone is one of the best at shooting the three making the matchup an interesting second meeting in the last 17 days.

Scouting Lawrence Tech
After a strong start, LTU has lost six of their last seven and have struggled to score the ball. Guard Brandon Beavers has come on of late as the teams leading scorer at 16.9 PPG in seven games played. The Blue Devils live and die by the three, hitting an average of 9.6 per game.
