ANN ARBOR, Mich. – For the fourth time in the last five games, Cornerstone sees four players score in double-figures as they cruise to a 19-point win at Concordia to move to 8-2, 4-1 WHAC. The Golden Eagles led by 19 at the end of the first half and then matched the Cardinals in the second half to earn the 85-66 victory. CU will take a break from WHAC play as they head to Holland for the annual Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame Classic where they will take on NCAA DIII foes Hope College and Calvin University over the weekend. Action opens against the host Hope on Friday, November 26 at 8 p.m.
What you need to know?
- Carter Nyp hit two three's and Christian Rodriguez added one as CU went on top 14-7 with a 3-3 start from behind the arc.
- Cornerstone then went on a 7-0 run that saw Jack Joldersma and Luke Rowlinson from the bench get involved to quickly go on top 13.
- Christian Rodriguez then hit back-to-back threes to increase the lead to 16 at 39-23.
- Mason Brooks added a three later for the team's largest first half lead of 19. A Luke Rowlinson layup to end the half had Cornerstone on top 48-29 at the intermission.
- Jonny Strube and Christian Rodriguez each hit threes to begin the second half to bring the CU edge to 25.
- With 14:44 to play, Concordia cut the deficit back to 17 on a Bernard Kasanda layup.
- Cornerstone responded with three quick layups for a 6-0 run to bring the lead back to 23, 65-42.
- Concordia refused to give up though going on an 20-4 run in the next five minutes to bring the Golden Eagle advantage back to single digits at 69-62.
- Jonny Strube snapped the run with two huge three balls to bring the score back to 75-62 with 7:41 to play.
- Both defenses began to pick up the pace over the next four minutes as only five points were scored between both sides. Cornerstone led 78-64 with 3:27 to play.
- With just over two minutes to play Jonny Strube was fouled on a three-point attempt. He hit all three free throws as the Golden Eagles would put the Cardinals away at the free throw line to win their second straight game, 85-66.

Cornerstone will return to non-conference action with the GRSHOF Classic. CU will open action in the historic tournament vs. this year's host Hope College on Friday, November 26 at 8 p.m. at DeVos Fieldhouse.
