The Golden Eagles stayed hot in the regular season finale, scoring a season second best 89 points to defeat Concordia 89-67 and win their fourth straight game. CU ends the regular season at 18-11, 12-8 WHAC to earn the five seed headed into the conference tournament. Cornerstone will travel to No. 23 Lourdes on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. game for the WHAC Quarterfinal. Carter Nyp had a season best 19 points in the win vs. Concordia, and the team hit a season high 35 field goals, while tying a season low with just seven turnovers.

WHAC Tournament Outlook
Cornerstone earned the five seed and will travel to the four seed Lourdes for the WHAC Tournament Quarterfinal on Wednesday. The winner of that game will take on the winner of the top seed Indiana Tech Warriors and eight seed UNOH Racers. On the other side of the bracket, six seed UM-Dearborn will travel to three seed Rochester and seven seed Siena Heights heads to the two seed Madonna.

WHAC Tournament History
The last time the Golden Eagles had to open the conference tournament on the road was in 1996-97, just the fourth year of Coach Kim Elders tenure where they also were the five seed after going 17-15 overall. Cornerstone has won 10 WHAC Tournament Championships in program history, with their latest coming in the 2016-17 season. Last year, CU made it to the WHAC Tournament Championship game but fell at home to Indiana Tech by a score of 72-61.

Baker nears 1,000
Junior forward Tyler Baker continues his road to becoming the 44th Golden Eagle with 1,000 career points as he is now just 61 away after a 12 point performance in the regular season finale vs. Concordia.

History vs. Lourdes
Head Coach Kim Elders has dominated the Gray Wolves over the years, holding an all-time record of 18-2. Lourdes did however get a win in Sylvania this season as the two teams split the regular season series.

Scouting Lourdes
After leading the WHAC for a large portion of the season, the Gray Wolves limped to the finish line, dropping four of their final five games to finish fourth in the conference at 20-10, 13-7 WHAC. Lourdes ranks top five in NAIA DII as they hold opponents to just 67.3 points per game. Offensively, they are very balanced with three players averaging 10+ PPG including a team high 15.8 from Clif Snow. Cornerstone and Lourdes met just over a week ago in Grand Rapids when CU earned a 68-63 win over the then no. 13 Gray Wolves on February 12. Nick Weltch leads Lourdes in rebounds with 7.1 a game. Kenny Coleman leads the team in assists with 94 this season.

Coach E nears 700
If Cornerstone can make a run and extend their season into the National Tournament, Head Coach Kim Elders is just four wins away from 700 all-time, as he holds a 696-253 overall record.
