GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A strong offensive night from
Carter Nyp and a flock of Golden Eagles drove Cornerstone past Concordia 89-67. Senior
Brent Hibbitts was honored before tip-off in his final game at Mol Arena. With the victory, CU moves to 18-11 on the season and 12-8 in the WHAC. With their 12-8 mark in the WHAC, Cornerstone finished fifth in the conference. Because of their fifth-place finish, CU will travel to Lourdes University this Wednesday to take on the fourth seeded Gray Wolves in the WHAC Tournament Quarterfinals. Tip-off is set for 7 pm.

- Brent Hibbitts got the party started early, flushing down a two-handed dunk three minutes into the game to give CU a 4-3 lead.
- Cornerstone, led by strong first half shooting efforts from Tyler Baker and Drew Knickerbocker, hit 50% of their three-pointers in the first 20 minutes.
- Carter Nyp led all scorers with 19 points on 9-14 shooting, doing much of his damage inside.
- Concordia gave up the lead with 15 minutes remaining in the first half and would never see it again, as Cornerstone pulled away.
- The Golden Eagles defense would turn up the pressure to end the first half, not yielding a single point to the Cardinals for the final three minutes of the quarter to take a 47-30 lead into the locker room.
- Concordia would come out firing, scoring four of the first five baskets in the second half. Cornerstone wasn't fazed however, holding off multiple Cardinal charges at the lead.
- Carter Nyp got free for a fastbreak dunk with just over 11 minutes left in the second half to put Cornerstone up 67-49.
- Cornerstone's lone senior Brent Hibbitts was subbed off with 2:31 remaining in the game, marking the final time Hibbitts would appear for the Golden Eagles in Mol Arena.
