In the win vs. the Warriors, Cornerstone surpassed 80 points for the fourth time this season and the first time since November 9. With three regular season games remaining, Cornerstone is 15-11, 9-8 WHAC and sits tied for fifth in the conference standings.
Baker Nears 1,000
Junior
Tyler Baker surpassed 900 points in the last game vs. Rochester as he has 901 in his career, making him the next Golden Eagle in line to surpass the 1,000-career point threshold. Baker looks to become the 44th CU player in program history to hit the 1,000 career point mark as his teammate
Christian Rodriguez hit the threshold earlier this season.
True to his Name
Junior point guard
Christian Rodriguez goes by the social media handle "AssistK1NG" and he is holding true to his name over the past three games, recording six assists in each appearance. Six ties a season high for Rodriguez as he has recorded that mark five times this season. Rodriguez has a career high of 11 assists recorded in 2018-19 and has 390 career. On the year, Rodriguez ranks fifth in the WHAC in assists per game with 3.58.
History vs. Opponents
Cornerstone has played just 19 games all-time against the Gray Wolves of Lourdes and gone 17-2 in those appearances. However, CU lost on the road to Lourdes last time out. Against Aquinas, the Golden Eagles have a much longer history, going 48-22 in Head Coach
Kim Elders reign including seven consecutive victories vs. their rival.
Scouting Lourdes
Lourdes has had their best season in program history, ranking No. 13 in NAIA DII and holding a 19-7, 12-4 WHAC record to be tied for first in the conference. The Gray Wolves have lived off balance this season as four of their five starters average 9.6 PPG or higher. LU is one of the best teams in the national defensively, holding opponents to 67.1 PPG. Lourdes has played four overtime games this season and gone 2-2 in those games, most recently falling to UM-Dearborn at home in overtime.
Scouting Aquinas
The Saints have had a rough stretch, losing eight of their last 11 games to be 9-18, 5-12 WHAC. Most recently, Aquinas defeated Concordia on the road 80-71. The Saints have struggled to find a consistent starting lineup as 10 different players have earned at least one start this season. Davion Benton leads the team in scoring with 11.7 PPG and rebounds with 8.8 RPG but has only started 16 of the teams 26 games.
