Last Week Recap
Despite struggling to find high scoring outputs, the Golden Eagles continue to find ways to win as the team defeated Grace Christian 68-59 on the road last week to close out the non-conference season and 2019. CU swept Grace in a pair of games this season and finished the 2019 year at 10-6, 4-3 WHAC to sit tied for fourth in the conference standings. Cornerstone was led by the double-double of Kyle Hayes in the win and the team is now 9-2 in games decided by 10 or less points.

Hayes Career High
Redshirt junior Kyle Hayes recorded his second double-double of the season with 16 points and 15 rebounds to help CU get their 10th win of the season last week. 15 rebounds is a career high for Hayes and 16 points is just two short of his career high. Hayes is the only Golden Eagle to record a double-double this season with both of them coming against Grace Christian University.

Team Rebounding
Cornerstone recorded a season high 56 rebounds for the third time at Grace, and the team is dominating the boards via a team effort. CU averages 41.2 rebounds a game to rank best in the WHAC and the team has six players averaging 3+ boards a game. Kyle Hayes is the team leader in rebounds with 115 on the year, averaging 7.2 a game.

Dominating the Mitten State
Head Coach Kim Elders has dominated the state of Michigan in his 27 year career, sitting just one win away from 400 against teams from the Mitten State. All-Time, Elders is 399-141 against teams from the Michigan.

History vs. Rochester
Cornerstone has played the Warriors just six times in program history, and just four times since the team entered the conference in the 2017-18 season. Coach E and the Golden Eagles have yet to lose to the physical Warriors squad going 6-0 in those games. Cornerstone has struggled at Rochester however with all three games in Garth Pleasant Arena being decided by under 10 points including an overtime win just last season.

Scouting the Warriors
Rochester has been hot of late, winning seven of their last eight games including a monster 61 point win over Sault College on New Years Eve as they scored a season high 113 points. RU is 3-3 in WHAC play with two of their conference losses coming by just two points in overtime. Unique to this year, the Warriors have struggled at home going just 4-5 in Garth Pleasant Arena, but have been a perfect 6-0 on the road. Senior forward Peter Agba has been dominant in the post shooting an NAIA DII ninth best 61.5% from the field to go along with a team best 8.2 rebounds per game. Senior guard Armand Cartwright has been one of the best in the conference in points production, averaging 20 a game to rank third in the WHAC.
