Last Week Recap
Cornerstone split a pair of contests this past week, starting their season at 1-1. In their matchup against Grace Christian, the Golden Eagles attacked early and often. CU forced Grace into 23 turnovers and held a 42-32 advantage on the glass. A double-double from Rebekah Crosby helped push Cornerstone over the top and the Golden Eagles walked out of Mol Arena 74-56.
The script was flipped the following game against Grace College. This time it was the Lancers applying the pressure, turning Cornerstone over 31 times en route to a 97-57 victory.

Scouting #RV indiana Wesleyan University
The Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats will be a stiff test for Cornerstone, as they return two of their top four leading scorers. The Wildcats are receiving votes nationally and CU will be their first opponent of the season. The Golden Eagle defense will have to key in on Dayton Groninger and Anne Secrest, if they hope to claim a big victory.

Scouting Spring Arbor University
The Cougars of Spring Arbor will bring a young squad to Mol Arena this  Wednesday. SAU graduated three seniors last season, and have zero on the roster for the 2019-20 year. The Cougars offense is led by junior guard Anne Marie Wright, who is averaging 11 points per contest this season. Spring Arbor will be looking to bounce back after a tough 74-42 loss at the hands of Indiana University-South Bend.

Scouting #15 Taylor University
Taylor University is 1-0 on the season after defeating Concordia University 56-53. Their offense was led by senior Abby Buchs, who poured in 21 points on 7-13 shooting. The 5-11 guard/forward is one of five seniors on this deep Taylor squad. As if one Buchs wasn't enough, CU will also have to worry about Becca Buchs, twin sister of Abby. Becca averaged 16.8 points last season and chipped in with 13 of her own in Taylor's victory over Concordia. The Trojans sit at #15 in the latest NAIA poll and one of three opponents receiving national attention that Cornerstone gets to face this week. The Golden Eagles will look to limit the Buchs twins and the rest of the Taylor offense, by chasing their shooters off the perimeter, as the Trojans took 31 three pointers against Concordia.

Scouting #RV Huntington University
Cornerstone's final opponent of the week are the Foresters of Huntington University. Huntington graduated four seniors out of the program heading into this season. Of the returners, leading scorer Sarah Fryman jumps off the page. The senior was recently named the preseason favorite to win Player of the League in the Crossroads League. Fryman averaged 17.9 points her junior season and will be a force to be reckoned with. The Foresters were a dominant team inside the arc last season, with nearly 70% of their shots coming from inside the three point line. Sam Hammel will also be a player Cornerstone will have to keep tabs on if they hope to grab a victory on the road. The junior started every game she played in, averaging 10.1 points a contest.
