GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – No. 1 ranked Cornerstone starts postseason play on Wednesday when they open the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament against Concordia. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. inside Mol Arena as the Golden Eagles look to capture their second consecutive conference tourney and 11^th in program history. Scouting Concordia – Head coach Ricky Yahn
The Cardinals, under 5th year head coach Ricky Yahn, come into the game as the eighth seed in the WHAC Tournament as they tied UNOH and Siena Heights for the 7th best record during the regular season at 7-13. The Cardinals have one of the best 1-2 inside-outside duos in the WHAC in Connor Phee (16.7 points, 7.0 rebounds) and Jalen Thompson (17.1 points). Jared McDaniel distributes the ball at a high rate as he ranks second in the WHAC in Assists/Game (5.3). As a team, CUAA puts up 69.6 points per game while allowing 74.1.
 
 
WHAC Tournament History - Cornerstone has controlled the WHAC Tournament since the conference was created in 1992-93. In the 26 conference tournaments played, the Golden Eagles have appeared in the title game in 20, winning ten of them including three of the last four seasons. The Golden Eagles are 49-15 all-time in the tourney.
 
WHAC Tourney Champions - Cornerstone has won ten WHAC Tournament titles in their history. CU won them in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015 and 2017. The Golden Eagles reached the WHAC finals in 13 straight seasons from 1999-2011 and have failed to get out of the first round only once.
 
Auto-Bid for NAIA National Tournament - The winner of the WHAC Tournament receives one of the conference's two auto-bids to the NAIA DII National Tournament. Cornerstone has claimed one as the regular season champion.
