Women’s Basketball set for road trip to Northwestern Ohio

GRAND RAPIDS - Mich. – Cornerstone is set for a single game week before they head to California with their final conference game before the new year at Northwestern Ohio. The Golden Eagles currently sit at 2-13, 1-6 WHAC and are looking for a big road win to move up to eighth place in the WHAC standings. Last Week Recap
The Golden Eagles went 1-1 last week, as head coach Jessica Yonkers earned her first conference victory in a 74-67 home win over Madonna. CU finished the week on the road at No. 7 Indiana Tech and fell 93-40 to the Warriors. Cornerstone is now 2-13, 1-6 WHAC on the year as they will play one final conference game in 2018 at Northwestern Ohio later this week. The team will follow that with a trip to California to take on Westmont and Master's on December 18 and 19. 
 
Udell's First Double-Double
Senior Mya Udell recorded her first ever double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds in a win vs. Madonna. Udell had a great week offensively scoring 15 points in both games on 11-24 shooting. Udell is second on the team in points per game with 10.8 and third on the team in rebounds per game with 4.2.
 
Win in Mol Arena
Head Coach Jessica Yonkers got her first home victory this week putting the Golden Eagles just three wins away from 200 inside of Mol Arena. CU holds an all-time record of 197-61 since Mol Arena opened its doors in 2000. This season Cornerstone is 1-6 at home and 1-7 on the road. 
 
History vs. UNOH
The Golden Eagles have posted a 12-6 record all-time against Northwestern Ohio since the two teams began meeting in 2010. CU won both games in the 2017-18 season each by double-digits but had previously lost the last three before that. The Golden Eagles and Racers are notorious for close games, as the two teams have had eight games decided by five or less points in their 18 total meetings. 
 
Scouting the Racers
Northwestern Ohio sits at a 5-8, 1-5 WHAC record. The Racers come off a split of a pair of road non-conference games, defeating Grace Christian 67-61 and falling to Midway University 67-60. Sophomore Emily Patton has been the leader offensively averaging 16.3 points per game this season. Fataya Larry has been one of the best in the country in rebounding as well ranking third in total rebounds with 150 and fourth in rebounds per game with 11.5 to go along with her 9.8 points per game. The Racers are coached by Mike Armbruster who is in his fourth season at the helm and has posted a 37-66 all-time record.
