GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The No. 7 ranked men's basketball team gets right back into action in a busy week as the Golden Eagles head to rival Aquinas on Tuesday before playing in the annual GR Sports Hall of Fame Classic this weekend at Calvin. CU will face the host Knights on Friday at 8 p.m. and then Hope College on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Scouting Aquinas – Head coach Ryan Bertoia
The Saints picked up their first win of the season in the WHAC opener as they posted an 80-71 victory at Concordia last Wednesday. Third year head coach Ryan Bertoia then led AQ into an exhibition game at Western Michigan where the Saints fell 99-52. Aquinas (1-4 overall) is led by GVSU transfer DeShawn Lewis who is averaging 15.6 points per night while senior Rob Deiz is putting up 14.3 per night. As a team, AQ averages 67.2 points per night and is allowing 74.8.

Scouting Calvin – Head coach Kevin Vande Streek
Veteran head coach Kevin Vande Streek and the Knights have played just three games so far entering the week but are scheduled for a road game against Wheaton on Tuesday. Calvin, who opened up the season with a win over Grace Christian, is averaging 68.3 points per game while shooting 42.9% from the floor. Leading the scoring for the Knights is Derrick DeVries (16.7) and Thad Shymanski (16.0) while Tony DeWitte is the only other player in double-figures (10.0).

Scouting Hope – Head coach Greg Mitchell
The Flying Dutchmen and head coach Greg Mitchell enter the week with a 1-1 overall record as they will play host to Ohio Northern on Tuesday before facing Aquinas on Friday in the opening game of the GRSHOF Classic. Hope opened up the campaign with a 139-129 win against Greenville but fell in the next game to Simpson, 73-55. HC is led on offense by last year's Tourney MVP, Jason Beckman, who is putting up 23.5 points per game. He is followed in scoring by Preston Granger (18.0) and Riley Lewis (16.5) as the Dutchmen are averaging 97.0 points per game.
