GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The No. 1 ranked men's basketball team plays four of the top six opponents in the WHAC to close out the regular season and they get it started Wednesday vs. UM-Dearborn inside Mol Arena in their annual Purple Game. CU will then play host to No. 10 Davenport on Saturday in the final regular season meeting between the two schools within the WHAC.

Third year head coach Taylor Langley has the Wolverines at 17-9 entering the matchup at Cornerstone on Wednesday. UMD has posted wins over nationally ranked foes Davenport and Indiana Tech and is fighting for a home playoff game in the WHAC Tournament as they are tied for fourth with UNOH and Aquinas. The Wolverines have been led on offense by senior Marcus Williams who averages 17.9 points per game. Behind him is Jason Penn at 14.6 as the junior recently went over 1,000 career points. As a team, UMD averages 75.5 points per game while allowing 70.2 as they rank No. 8 in the NAIA in Total Blocks (115) and No. 10 in Assist/Turnover Ratio (1.4).

Scouting Davenport – Head coach Burt Paddock (9th Season)
The Panthers, under the guidance of 9th year head coach Burt Paddock, are 20-6 overall and 14-4 in the WHAC. Davenport, which has won its last five games since losing to UM-Dearborn in mid-January, has been led by Kevin Rich who is the team leader in scoring (17.8) and rebounding (6.9) while fellow senior Nick Gamble is tops on the team in assists (5.1) and steals (1.6). As a team, the Panthers are No. 3 in the nation in Assist/Turnover Ratio (1.61) and No. 7 in Scoring Defense (69.5). Davenport plays against Madonna on Wednesday in their final home game of the regular season.
