GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Six different players finished with at least nine points on Saturday afternoon as the No. 1 ranked Golden Eagles posted an 84-63 win over visiting Concordia University. The victory is the second in a row for Cornerstone as they improve to 18-2 overall and 11-1 in the WHAC. CU will head to Marygrove on Wednesday before returning to host Indiana Tech next Saturday.

Game Flow
Cornerstone was hot to start the game as they jumped out to an 11-0 lead less than five minutes in and held Concordia off the scoreboard until the 14:13 mark. The lead would grow over the next few minutes, to as many as 15, but the Cardinals clawed their way back in and trailed by only nine at the break, 38-29.

Concordia showed grit coming out of halftime as they refused to go quiet and had the margin down to just five (49-44) with just over 15 minutes to play. Leading by nine (59-50) with 10 minutes to play, CU saw their offense explode as they used a 17-2 run to open a 76-52 lead and they never looked back.

Say What?
"We had some strong points in the game today and it was nice to see our defense come alive midway through the second half. We got stops and some easy baskets on the other end which led to a big run." Head Coach Kim Elders
