GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Cornerstone Men's Basketball team moved up to No. 1 in the latest NAIA DII Top-25 poll and they will play two final games before Christmas starting Saturday at home against Lawrence Tech. The Blue Devils, under 5th year head coach Tom Kempf, are just 1-8 overall and 1-6 in the WHAC. Lawrence Tech, which is in just its fifth year sponsoring a program, picked up its lone win back on November 19 when they defeated Madonna 69-67. Leading the Blue Devils in scoring is the duo of Robbie Geoghegan and Payton DeWildt who are putting up 12.8 points per game. LTU is averaging just 62.9 points per game while allowing 72.4.

Scouting Siena Heights – Head coach Joe Pechota (5th year)
Head coach Joe Pechota, who is in his 5th year, has the Saints at 7-4 overall and 4-3 in the WHAC. Siena Heights picked up a big win last week when they took down previously undefeated Northwestern Ohio by the final of 90-70. Offensively, SHU has been led by Chris Pearl who is averaging 14.4 points per game while Jerrell Martin is at 12.4. Tony Jackson is the other Saint in double-figures at 11.5 as Siena Heights puts up 70.9 points per game. Defensively, the Saints are allowing just 65.8 points per game which ranks third in the NAIA.

As a team, Cornerstone has six Top-20 marks as they are No. 3 in FT% (.792), No. 7 in Blocks (58) and Blocks/Game (4.4) and No. 8 in Scoring Defense (68.6). They are also No. 11 in Rebounds/Game (31.8), No. 14 in Scoring Margin (15.3) and No. 18 in Rebound Margin (7.0).

Cornerstone, which moved up one spot to No. 1 in the country in the latest NAIA DII Top-25 Poll, has a record of 30-4 when playing as the top ranked team. The last time CU was ranked No. 1 was the poll that came out on October 27 in which they posted an 8-1 mark during the times between polls.
