Scouting AQ
A very young Aquinas team that features no seniors comes into the season with 10 games under their belt going 6-4 overall and 1-2 in the WHAC. Veteran head coach Linda Nash in her 21st year as the leader of the Saints looks to use this young lineup to get back on the winning track after back-to-back seasons with a record under .500. This season has seen a duo of AQ players take control, as sophomore Hannah Brefeld leads the team with 12.3 PPG and 7.1 RPG while junior McKenzie Breimayer is first in assists at 2.5 and second on the team with 11.7 PPG..

Scouting IIT
Indiana Tech looks to build off of a strong 2015-16 campaign where they finished third in the WHAC with a 21-11, 16-6 conference record. IIT has gotten off to a strong start with a 7-1, 2-1 WHAC record this year with their only loss coming on the road to No. 23 Madonna. The Warriors have a pair of WHAC First Team All-Americans who have seen their success carry over to 2016-17 as Haley Cook averages 20.5 PPG and 4.4 APG, while Taylor Seiss has recorded 13.3 PPG and a team high five blocks. Redshirt junior transfer from IPFW Keanna Gary has come out strong in her first year with ITT as well averaging a double-double with 13.5 PPG and 11.1 RPG.
Recent History vs. This Week's Opponents
Cornerstone holds winning records against both Aquinas and Indiana Tech since the 2011-12 season. CU is 9-2 vs. AQ winning their last five outings vs. the Saints while being 7-4 against IIT losing three of the last four. The Warriors ended the Cornerstone season last year winning the WHAC quarterfinal 68-58 before losing to Davenport in the semifinal 82-76.
Sheridan's Career High
Despite a season high 34 point loss to Hope College this past week, sophomore
Jesse Sheridan played lights out recording multiple career highs. Sheridan scored a career high 29 points accounting for half of the Golden Eagle points in the loss. Sheridan also recorded a career high 10 made field goals and seven made free throws bringing her season average up to 16.1 PPG. Sheridan is the first Golden Eagle to score 29 or more points since Katelyn Cousins scored 33 against Lawrence Tech in February of 2014.
Conference vs. Non-Conference
The Golden Eagles have had two very different stories statistically in conference vs. non-conference play. CU is shooting a staggering 10 percentage points better in conference play than they are in non-conference play. From behind the arc, Cornerstone is shooting just 11.1% out of conference while shooting 34.1% against WHAC teams. Individually, scoring leader
Jesse Sheridan averages four more PPG against WHAC teams as well.
Block Party
The height and ability to go straight up by the Cornerstone lineup has effected opponents play this season, as CU is seventh in the nation with 4.1 blocks per game The Golden Eagles have tallied 33 total blocks through the first eight games with
Taylor Richards leading the way with eight.
Defensive Struggle's
Cornerstone has struggled defensively in their past two outings giving up 86 points to Concordia and 92 points to Hope College. The 92 points by the Dutch is the first time that an opposing team has scored above 90 on CU since Bethel College scored 90 back in November of 2006.
