Alexis McConnell is the female Golden Eagle Athlete of the Week as she set a new school record in the 5,000m race at Grand Valley State BIG Meet.

The freshman broke the record previously held by Julie Oosterhouse with a time of 17:42.88 which is just under three seconds better than Julie's mark in 2014.

Alexis and the team will head to the WHAC Championships this Saturday at Aquinas College.
