Sam Vander Sluis is the Golden Eagle Athlete of the Week after leading the No. 8 ranked men's basketball team to their second straight win over an NAIA DII Top-5 foe.

The sophomore posted his second career double-double, this time with 19 points and 14 rebounds, to help CU down visiting Saint Francis (Ill.) who is No. 5 in the country. Sluis also contributed four blocks on the day as he has 11 of those through his first three games.

Vander Sluis and his team will head to Huntington (Ind.) this weekend to face the College of the Ozarks Friday and then either the host Foresters or Great Lakes Christian on Saturday.
